Student & Child Data Privacy (FERPA & COPPA)

SignLogia is designed for educational use with student privacy in mind. This page explains how SignLogia supports schools by following privacy principles aligned with FERPA (student education records) and COPPA (children under 13).

Purpose
SignLogia supports language learning while protecting the privacy of students and children. It functions as a real-time language processing tool — not a student record system or data repository.
FERPA (Student Education Records)
FERPA is a U.S. federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. SignLogia is designed to support FERPA-aligned use in school settings.

Key points:
• SignLogia does not require student names or IDs to work
• Schools control how the tool is used in instruction
• The tool is intended for educator-directed learning support
FERPA: No Storage of Education Records
SignLogia does not create or maintain student education records. User input is processed to generate immediate instructional output.

Tip for schools: Avoid entering personally identifiable information (PII) such as full names, student IDs, addresses, or private student details.
FERPA: No Sale / Sharing / Marketing Use
SignLogia does not sell, rent, or share student information for advertising, marketing, or profiling. The service is intended for educational use — not targeted advertising or behavior tracking.
FERPA: No Training on Student Inputs
SignLogia does not use student prompts, inputs, or outputs to train models or build profiles of students.
COPPA (Children Under 13)
COPPA is a U.S. federal law that protects online privacy for children under 13. SignLogia is designed to be suitable for educational settings that may include children under 13.
COPPA: No Collection of Personal Information
SignLogia does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, such as:

• Full name
• Contact information
• User profiles
• Persistent tracking identifiers used for advertising
COPPA: No Behavioral Tracking or Profiling
SignLogia does not track individual student behavior across sessions for advertising purposes, and it does not build marketing profiles about children or students.
